The Attecotti were a fearsome tribe of warriors from northern Britain. They had a gruesome reputation in battle and would daub themselves with the blood of their enemies, just in case the sight of a mad naked sword wielding maniac wasn’t enough to make you pee your tunic! Rumours of cannibalism surrounded them while possibly just an embellishment, the psychological impact on their enemies must have been considerable.
