From the crumbling fire traps of the Subura to the less dangerous examples around the cattle market, the insulae were Rome’s apartments and high-rise complexes. Some examples stood in excess of five storeys and boasted taverns, bakers and other, less salubrious places to spend a denarius.

This version of our Upper-Rank Insula Corner kit has a flat roof to allow your skirmish games to be fought on the rooftops. The recessed roof also provides an excellent place to roll your dice without fear of knocking over or disturbing any miniatures at ground level.
