The most common Primary Phase Habs are produced by Koppell Heavy Industries and are made from ferrocrete walls (a form of concrete impregnated at the atomic level with iron), these are often produced in varying colours to break the monotony of pre-fab colonial sameness construction (one of the causes of colonial madness).

When a Primary Phase Hab unit is ordered the customer may want a PPH-085 model as this is a two storey building, it may be that the corporation would like to make the most use out of the space the township is settled in (by filling the building to capacity) or that the more influential settlers would like more space and are willing to pay for the upgrade.  Either way it is not uncommon to see these larger Primary Phase Habs scattered throughout a township, even from its very inception.
