Product Description JUGULA Gladiator – Velites.

Sometimes called the Hastarius, this (very) light gladiator is based on the skirmishers of the Roman Republic. Protected only by a small buckler, he had to rely on his agility to survive in the arena. He was armed with javelins and a dagger. The wolf pelt often, but by no means universally, worn by veles was meant to intimidate their opponents, although its actual impact in the ring has to be doubted.
